Catatan Papua, as a strategic region in Indonesia, faces complex problems related to separatist terrorist groups (KST) and military and non-military threats. This research focuses on the training management of the Indonesian Army Task Force in the mission to Papua to support national defence with the legal basis of the Regulation of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 of 2017 concerning the deployment of Indonesian national army in border security. So that training is needed in the preparation of tough personnel in carrying out the assignment mission, namely maintaining national security and defence. The research method uses a qualitative approach, SWOT analysis, and POAC training management theory which involves training management involving the stages of Planning (planning and programming training), Organising (ensuring all resources to achieve the objectives of the training), Actuating (implementing the training plan that has been made), Controlling (controlling performance which includes assistance, supervision, and monitoring). Although in accordance with the general directive, implementation problems arose due to limited training resources that were not optimised due to changes in training methods and local conflicts. The approach taken by SATGAS TNI AD tends to favour a humanist approach with territorial capabilities. A proactive strategy incorporates strengths and opportunities, as well as an understanding of weaknesses and threats. The analysis of internal factors showed a strength total score of 2.43 and a weakness score of 0.80. External factors highlighted opportunities a total score of 2.425 and threats a score of 0.825. This research resulted in recommendations, namely: a) training programs and materials should be oriented to help overcome the problems faced by the community with a humanist approach; b) training to improve personnel's mastery of technology such as drones, navigation, telemetry, control systems, and so on to minimise risks due to limited resources through cooperation; c) training to improve innovative tactics and techniques related to the dynamics of defence security disturbances; and d). Improve training resource management and training equipment innovation according to needs.
