| Catatan | The threats in the Papua border region are complex and require in-depth attention and handling, especially regarding the complexity of the development of terrorist separatist groups and security disturbances. This is made even more complicated by the challenges and obstacles that occur during security assignments in Papua. Yonif 323/Buaya Putih, as one of the units assigned to border security duties in Papua, needs to prepare its personnel who will carry out this assignment. This research investigation uses a qualitative research design that looks at and describes the readiness and management carried out by Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih as a matter of urgency in carrying out assignments, so there are three main formulations, namely the threat conditions in Papua, the obstacles and challenges faced during security assignments in Papua, as well as managing personnel readiness for border security duties in Papua. The results of this research show that the threat in Papua continues to evolve every year, coupled with the geographical conditions and environmental characteristics of Papua with limited access, isolation, health, climate and weather uncertainty, so Yonif 323/Buaya Putih projects its readiness through the deployment of 450 personnel spread across 13 guard post, showing a proactive attitude in facing potential threats, both military and non-military threats. However, the main obstacle that occurred was the need for more personnel at the Tamtama level, specifically at the Kout Ilaga Post. These obstacles highlight the need for appropriate and efficient recruitment through a collaborative approach to overcoming operational obstacles and challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to manage readiness through a collaborative approach and develop human resources while remaining sensitive to cultural diversity in Papua. |
