Catatan Stunting, which signifies a discrepancy between a child's height and age, presents a significant challenge in Indonesia, notably in the province of Papua. Despite a national decline in stunting prevalence, Papua has seen a notable increase. Thisstudy seeks to explore the intricate factors influencing food security, nutritional fulfillment, and the military's role in addressing stunting in Papua. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews and case studies, the research delves into the specific circumstances of the Papua region. Engaging pertinent authorities in Papua, data were gathered through interviews and the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey. The findings uncover substantial hurdles in food security in Papua, particularly related to infrastructure and food distribution. Challenges such as construction delays, high transportation expenses, and inadequate storage significantly impede progress. Concurrently, efforts to meet nutritional requirements and prevent stunting persist, yet the diversity of protein consumption remains low. Local initiatives by the Health Office and the National Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) target toddlers and children facing malnutrition. The implementation of the TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) program suggests a commitment to stunting management, although it remains broad in scope. These challenges primarily stem from geographical factors, especially in the remote regions of Papua. Recommendations encompass the utilization of marginal land, infrastructure enhancement, small and medium enterprise (SME) development, the reinforcement of sensitive and targeted intervention programs, and the fostering of military-civil cooperation. Evaluation and monitoring are imperative to ensure the sustainability and efficacy of these endeavors
